    PM Modi inaugurates AIIMS and lays the foundation for projects worth over ₹3500 crore

    A new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has been inaugurated in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. There are 750 beds in this 247-acre 750-bed premier medical institute that will provide super specialty medical treatment to the people of the area. It will cost 1471 crore rupees.

    PM Modi inaugurates AIIMS and lays the foundation for projects worth over ₹3500 croreIn Bilaspur, PM Modi also inaugurated a Government Hydro Engineering College worth 140 crore rupees. In addition, he laid foundation stones for the 350 crore rupee Medical Devices Park in Nalagarh and a 1692 crore rupee four-lane road project in Pinjore-Nalagarh under the Bharat Mala project.

    In a mammoth public meeting in Bilaspur, the PM Modi greeted the crowd in the local dialect of Bilaspur. Having been built in an eco-friendly manner, AIIMS at Bilaspur will be called ‘Green AIIMS’. As well as increasing access to affordable healthcare, AIIMS Bilaspur will also provide specialized healthcare facilities nearer to the people of the region.

    According to PM Modi, Himachal Pradesh was one of three states selected to establish a Bulk Drug Park. It was also one of four states selected to establish a Medical Device Park. For this, the state’s people deserve credit for their faith and support of the central government, he said. As Himachal has a picturesque and healthy environment, medical tourism is another significant sector that needs to be marketed in Himachal. This will attract people from across the globe to visit the State.
